The New York State Concealed Carry Certification Course is the required training for individuals applying for a New York State Concealed Carry License. As required by New York law, this comprehensive program consists of 16 hours of classroom instruction and 2 hours of live-fire range training under the supervision of a qualified instructor

 Students will receive instruction in:

• Firearm safety fundamentals 
• Safe firearm handling and storage 
• Firearm parts, operation, and maintenance 
• Ammunition knowledge 
• New York State firearm laws 
• Legal use of force and Article 35 
• Conflict avoidance and de-escalation 
• Situational awareness 
• Concealed carry responsibilities 
• Safe transportation of firearms 
• Range safety procedures 
• Live-fire proficiency assessment 

The course concludes with the required written examination and live-fire assessment in accordance with New York State standards.

This course is designed for:

• Individuals applying for a New York State Concealed Carry License. 
• Current permit holders who are required by law to complete the training in certain jurisdictions.

Upon successfully completing all classroom requirements, the written examination, and the live-fire qualification, students will receive a Certificate of Completion documenting that they have met New York State's firearm safety training requirements for the Concealed Carry Certification Course. This certificate may be submitted as part of your concealed carry license application where required.
